Message to read. Also, I fixed some (not all) spelling and grammar errors:

I thought I would post my whole story on here, just for kicks, and because there is no other group of people in the world that could fully appreciate it all.

A lot of you on here know part of my story, whether you hate me or get a kick out of my pointless posts, (and this is going to be a long one) you might know this is my first Z. It all started back in the beginning of December when I was scanning Google and found a Silver 1995 tt with fairly low miles and a great price. Trouble is, it was in CA and I live in WV. Wasn't going to stop me though. So I contacted the dealership that was selling it, and made arrangements to put down a deposit on it the following Monday, as it was a Saturday and the banks were closed. Sunday night I got a call from the dealer who told me that someone had used "buy it now" on eBay for the car. That person happened to be a member on here. A couple days later though the dealership called me and said that the deal fell through, so the car was mine if I wanted it. The following day I put a deposit down on the car.

A couple weeks later I flew out to Cali, bought the car and drove it around a few days. Then we put it on a truck and flew back home. It was supposed to arrive on January the 26th, but Dependable Auto Shippers (haha) delayed it until the night of February the 5th. Very early on the 6th I went to Pittsburgh to pick up the car. I went as early as possible to avoid the storm that was coming later that day (Many of you know of the monster storm of which I speak). So I arrived very early to the depot where my baby was dropped off. We soon found out that when the person that shipped it to me put it on the truck, he made himself the person who was supposed to pick it up in Pittsburgh. But he is in CA. Wonderful. So he needs to sign a legal document releasing the car to me. But in Cali it's 5am. So I call him anyway and after many calls, he finally picks up and I explain the situation to him.

Meanwhile, the depot cannot find the keys to the Z. Keep in mind all this time the storm of the century is right on my heels. I'm sure many of you can attest to the Z not being the best in the snow. Finally I am informed that after the DAS (auto shippers) driver got the car off his truck, he put the keys in his pocket, and drove to Chicago. Now I'm starting to get just a little mad. So we call DAS and inform them of the situation, and how we are not very happy, to put it lightly. I don't like DAS much, but I have to hand it to them, they did a lot to make it right. They paid for a locksmith to go to the depot and make a key on the same day. It took time though. Meanwhile I'm having an awful time getting the release form from the guy in CA.

A release document, spare key and 4 hours later, I'm sitting in my Z for the first time in weeks. It had just started to snow in Pittsburgh. So we started heading home. 30 minutes later, it was pounding down the snow at 3 inches an hour. When it started getting really bad, I pulled over and let my father drive, he's older, = more experience driving in bad conditions. 2 minutes later we're going 30 mph, and the Z shoots into a tailspin and heads for the guardrail. All the way from CA to the guardrail. But amazingly it stopped 2 feet from the guardrail. It actually looked like it was purposefully parked on the side of the interstate, but backwards. After that I wasn't taking any more chances. We called triple A and they sent a flat bed. It would cost a ton to have it carted all the way home, so we had to park it in the nearest Wal-Mart parking lot. Oh yes. So that’s where it stayed for 2 days.

When we got a tiny break in the weather, we went and literally dug it out of the snow. When we finally got it out we had another problem. The Walmart was on top of a hill. The hill was covered in snow and ice. We had with us a big V10 Ford F250 4x4 Extended Cab, so we went into Walmart and bought some straps, hooked them to the back of the Z and the front of the F250, and coasted the Z down the hill.

From there we drove it into town, planning on parking it at my grandparents house, since getting it all the way to my house was out of the question with the weather. But even the road to my grandparent’s house was terrible. So we had to settle on parking it at a Kroger’s a couple miles away. The next day the sun had cleared the roads a little, so we decided to try to get it to my grandparent’s house. It was close, but it finally made it there and up the driveway and under some cover; amazingly without a scratch.

Told you it was going to be a long story. I never imagined it would be so much trouble, but it's here now, all the way from CA, and it was worth it. So that's it. Feel free to post your own story on how you obtained your Z.
